So I saw the baby being kidnapped, but it's not my baby. On my current character, I RP'd as some other person in Vault 111 using Start Me Up. (Also, I play really heavily modded games, adding a lot of other quests/lands and distractions, so this might not be as applicable to people who play more vanilla versions.)

The assultron helmet works well with the armour mods I use so I feel like some special force operative staying fallout lore friendly.įor me, it depends on the playthrough and what I'm doing.

So intend to use robots for supplylines and guard duty leaving settlers for everything else. The short but sweet quest is interesting and the ability to pimp out codworth into deathmachine with a British accent never gets old. The issue i have with it the building of the vault can be tedious and time consuming but fun nevertheless I think this is one of the best locations to make you're homebase and clearing it out is quite fun. If i was playing a pure evil build i would take over the commonwealth while leaving preson Garvey at the museum for eternity.(will get the bobblehead) Then take over the raider camps when i bored of being a raider then start the minutemen quests retaking back what damage I caused.

I will side with the raiders to learn how to make the new drugs and grenades and setting up the park ect ect. I personally get there after my build is fleshed out and want a challenge and enough caps to buy the splattercannon. I tend to get around level 25 then try and get a radium rifle and marine armour soon as possible leaving most the quests until I've either joined the railroad or BOS. Doing Far Harbor post-game has different options to doing it before the end of the game which is interesting to experience. I think once you get into the third act of the game, you should stick with it till the game's over and not go off to do the DLCs. Either your character takes a dark path and comes back to feed of its corpse, or you redeem yourself in the optimism of pre-war America in the park and become the Commonwealth's dark defender. Narratively you could play this as your character being left broken by the events of the main quest and the massive damage they've left on the Commonwealth. Nuka World was always intended to be the post-game challenge DLC, not as much as Broken Steel or Lonesome Road but definitely still something you jump in your best armour and take your best guns to deal with. Normally I roleplay this as being left reeling by the reveal that my son is alive and 60 years old, and getting away with Nick (an old friend) helps to clear my head space. Doing it whilst you're gearing up for the Glowing Sea makes most sense.įor Far Harbor, I normally do this after meeting Father for the first time and seeing the Institute. Generally, I do Automatron whilst doing the second act - it's about when you get the quest and I think deadly robot army is a sufficient reason to hold on your main quest. It also hosts the hardest enemies, so doing this last just makes sense. Lastly, nuka world - no matter what you choose, you will be fighting human enemies, and the radium rifle will help a lot, as will a gamma gun. It’s a decent supply of loot, and if you didn’t get ballistic weave, you can wear the end reward for -15% from ghouls and good protection from energy and rads. Vault 88 - Mostly, I just do this here because it’s not really useful, but the enemies within are somewhat tough. You might want to worry about the companion for Far Harbor after the main quest line’s stalling point, and bring booze to drink on the side quests). Then Far Harbor, because the radium rifle is excellent against humans and marine armor is the strongest armor in the game (bring Nick, he has unique dialogue all over the place. Personally, I do them in the order they came out:Īutomation has the Tesla rifle, which is great at clearing ghoul or other weak enemy swarms without trouble, and the robot companions are excellent if you don’t want to max affinity on every single character (or just want an insanely effective robot friend, who could be codsworth)
